Cha-am is a small town about 175 km south of Bangkok and about 30 km north of Hua Hin.
Cha-am actually consists of two parts, the village of Cha-am itself which is about 2
kilometers from the coast, and Cha-am Beach which is on the coast.
We are talking about Cha-am Beach here.
Cha-am Beach consists of a promenade, a few kilometers long, that starts at the harbor and
then continues to the south.
Behind it, inland, is a second road, alleys connect the boulevard with the second road.
Cha-am Beach is really a Thai resort, where it is especially busy on weekends, when many
visitors come from Bangkok.
But what strikes us most this year is that it is very, very quiet.
There are few people on the beach, on the street, in the restaurants.
There are many restaurants and eateries along the boulevard and in the streets.
You shouldn't expect nightlife like in Pattaya here.
Cha-am is easily accessible. From Bangkok by bus or train, it takes two to three hours to travel. By car you are there in two hours on good highways.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
